Ulysse Nardin Quadrato Dual Time Perpetual Watch
The numerous patents Ulysse Nardin received in the recent years, most of which in the sphere of mechanical watch making, serve as a proof of their excellence and virtuosity. Some of the patents found application in the making of the Perpetual Ludwig, a tribute to the company’s 150th anniversary.
The date, day, month, and year indicators on the perpetual calendar can be set backwards as well as forwards with a single crown. To mark the beginning of the new millennium, Ulysse Nardin introduced the GMT± Perpetual, two unique timepieces brought together in a single watch.
Ulysse Nardin calls its Dual Time collection the intelligent time machine for executives on the go. The idea of the plus and minus signature pushers was born and implemented in 1993 and was patented by Ulysse Nardin shortly after that. These pushers adjust the hour hand to another local time instantly. The so called “Hometime” window situated in the left part of the dial displays the time at home when one is abroad. The hour hand moves one hour at a time either backwards or forwards while the minute time continues to run and keeps the time.
The Big Date double window display for easy reading of the date invented two years later allows the date to synchronize when the hour hand is adjusted to a new time across the dateline. The Dual Time collection includes a variety of designs for both men and women with either leather straps or steel bracelets.
