Millenary MC12 Tourbillon and Chronograph

The design of the watch is inspired by a Maserati engine.  Maserati is an Italian automobile manufacturer. The materials used in the making of the Millenary MC12 are non-standard and high-tech - consisting of a carbon main plate, which makes the watch unusually light, and eloxed aluminum bridges. A stop-work mechanism removes the need for mainspring torque zones. More accurate reading is made possible with the so called “double cone” and “double rack-pinion” power-reserve mechanisms.

The Millenary MC12 watch is issued in a limited series of 150 in platinum.  It is the second timepiece dedicated to Maserati and combines a tourbillon, a chronograph, and a twin-barrel system that ensures a power reserve of 10 days. Its openworked dial reveals the mechanical movement from inside of the watch.  The visible barrels remind of a dashboard. The main dial is intentionally offset from the center to achieve the effect of a sudden burst of speed.

The Millenary MC12 comprises 70 parts that weigh a total of 0.45 grams.  The two chronograph buttons are unusually situated at 2 and 10 o-clock and the chronograph itself possesses extremely precise tachometric scale. The power reserve indicator is located to the left of the dial and is presented in a blue/red coloring reminiscent of a petrol gauge. These are enclosed in a transparent sapphire crystal caseback.

The Millenary MC12 is a precious addition to the world of mechanical horology. Learn more about Audemars Piguet and the Millenary MC12 Tourbillon and Chronograph Watch.
