Baume & Mercier — a brand that builds fine Swiss watches for men and women — unveiled a new collection earlier this year: the Capeland Shelby Cobra line, built in honor of the legendary Carroll Shelby and the Cobra car that won against Ferrari in 1965.
Now, the brand has unveiled a one-of-a-kind rendition that is going up for auction on December 15, 2015, by Antiquorum — with all proceeds of the auction going to the Carroll Shelby Foundation that raises money for families affected by heart disease.
The 44mm one-off Capeland Shelby® Cobra Flyback Chronograph is created in 18-karat 5N rose gold and its design is inspired by the Shelby Cobra racecar. It features an off-white dial with a sky blue stripe in the center to emulate the racecar stripes. It also features blue hands and dial accents, and is finished with a black calfskin strap with blue alligator lining. The casebook is engraved “Shelby Cobra 1965-2015” and the sapphire crystal bears Shelby’s signature. The flyback chronograph is powered by a Swiss-made mechanical self-winding movement from La Joux-Perret.
The highest bidder in the auction will also receive an exclusive VIP package that includes a visit to the Shelby World Headquarters in Las Vegas, a Cobra driving experience, custom-made racing suits, and more.
